Outsourcing in HR Departments
Outsourcing is usually seen as a threat by the employees of your HR departments. This is because through outsourcing you might end up finding cheaper staff that will do the same work as members of your department. In this case it is easy to see why employees are afraid. The problem is that there are some facts that are not properly assessed. In most cases a business owner that has an in-house HR department will not even think about outsourcing because he has the security of having a qualified staff that already knows everything about the company and what has to be done at all times.
Although outsourcing in HR departments is seen as something bad, it should not be so. The truth is that even good HR departments can gain a lot of benefits through outsourcing. There are actually more companies that have to use this than you would believe. You have to think about one possibility. As your company grows it has to hire extra staff. Extra staff automatically means more work for your HR department. If your HR department can not cope with the growth noticed then there is need for help. You can not afford to lose control of human resources because problems with this department will have an immediate negative impact on everything that is linked with your business. You might end up with employees that are not happy and this is truly dangerous. When such a situation becomes reality, a business owner might decide to outsource a part of the HR department’s responsibilities in order to deal with everything that appeared. Such a move is actually helping the HR department because they have less work to do and they can properly focus on other services and perform them better.
We do believe that outsourcing in HR departments should not be considered that bad. We are rarely seeing cases that see HR departments being disband and staff being fired. In the worst case scenario this might happen but in most circumstances we are talking about the staff being redirected towards other activities. This means that the employee will still have a job. In most situations the new job will even be easier to handle than what he/she was doing in the HR department.
We recommend that you show caution when dealing with HR outsourcing at all times. If you already have an HR department you must make sure that whatever type of outsourcing you will use it is better and brings in more advantages than the current setup.
